Default 9" Carrier Assembly

Anyone know of any good suppliers of a complete carrier assembly including the gears for a ford 9" rear end? I want something that is already setup so I can pop the current assembly out and put the new one in with no / minor adjustments. I have a contact at the Ford dealer that is getting me a price but I want something to compare it to as well. Looking for 3.50 to 3.70 gears. I have 4.10 gears and just don't like running 4-5K rpm on the highway but would like to keep them just in case.

Moser sells a nice nodular iron case that isn't a pig, and is rated for 600 hp. Be careful, a lot of the places sell super strong webbed nodular cases, but they weigh about 20 pounds more than a stock ford or Moser lightweight nodular case. I bought my 3rd member from Moser, along with axles. Everything arrived promptly, and was correct. You may also try Currie. Depending on what you choose expect to spend about $1100-1550 shipped to your door.

How are the Yukon gears?

How does changing the third member compare to just changing the gears?

How are the Yukon gears?
From what I understand on the Jeep boards, Yukon itself is not a maker of gears, merely a company who contracts out product or repackages existing products. I've heard of people ordering Yukon gears for their Jeep and having them arrive as repackaged Dana Spicer. Overall, I think they have a reputation as an economy gear. They tend to knock-off other products developed by others such as Superior Gears Super 35 & Super 44 axle package (larger spline axles with special diffs).

That in itself does not make it bad, but I thought I'd throw it out there that you may want to at least research it a bit before going off and buying the cheapest assembly you can find. I'm all for saving a buck, but I'm a little gun shy doing that with gears because of the potential for whine or premature failure.

Yea, I totally agree with that. I heard mixed reviews on the Yukon gears. I do not want to get the cheapest thing out there, but the main thing here is.....is it worth getting the whole third member or just the gears? It would be nice to have a spare third member to swap if needed, and I would assume it would swap with any 9" as long as the splines were the same,.,correct? I have a 9" rear on both the 67 and 69. There again, if I found no use for it then I could sell it???????
