There is only one test that you have to pass and is so hard to fake that if it was, my hat goes off the the perp.
Does the car have factory dual exhaust? The only way to check is to look at the rear hangers for the resonators and the exhaust tips. There must be two bolts thru the frame and there is no way to fake them or their installation because there is a crush plate inside the frame rail. You can feel the crush plates by sticking a finger in the rear most assembly alignment hole and to the rear you will feel the plate. No plate - it's not a factory GT. Of course if you got the original window sticker, that's different.

Does it have disc brakes in the front? That might indicate you have a Gt, unless somebody swapped it.
