I remember gas at $0.119 a gallon. Sunoco 260, the top performance gas was $0.269 a gallon, and you really had to stretch your wallet to fill up. When I joined Uncle's 'boat club', recruits made $78 a month. That's $0.48 an hour for a 40 hour work week, but you were on duty 24/7 which come out to $0.116 an hour - but the food was good. While in school, I worked for $1.10 an hour in a drive-in restaurant, but the food was good. The car hops (remember them) would come in and tell us what kind of cars were in the lot. When a Cobra showed up, the kitchen cleared for a look see,it was that new. Later on, that Cobra 'whupped' a 63 Vette 409, not only in a quarter but destroyed him in a half mile. Gas was cheap then, but only in your mind.

I've seen the gas prices go down a bit lately. Today i saw an arco with $3.05 for 87, which makes it like $3.25ish for premium. Not too shabby considering about 2 months ago i saw premium at $4.09 in LA!!!!
