Out of the 5 vehicles I have owned I have only had one that got over 18mpg on the highway, that was my only car under 4.6L of displacement. It would be nice to have lower gas prices but I have yet to buy a car with the idea of economy on my mind,I'm willing to pay for mygas.

I commute 20 miles to work and 20 miles back. School is about 20 miles away. One paycheck a month goes to gas, maybe two if I have something else to pay. One paycheck goes to insurance. One for other bills and about half for food/neccesitys. It costs alsmot $50 a week to fill up. For the broke college students thats alot to pay, Im lucky I haven't moved out yet. Maybe once Im either done with school or go fulltime I won't worry so much, but it is a pain. There is a new contract in the works for 2008 so Im hoping they agree on a COL adjustment.

Well, that ought to keep the liberals in turmoil; drilling in their precious 'green' earth, in a pristine wilderness, where the baby seals are and, naturally, bringing money into the US treasury that they can spend on PORK.

Santa Clara, Ca, today, 4/29/07, $3.259 for 87 octane at an Arco; 91 was $3.499. The nearest station to me is a Shell and it was $3.499 and $3.799. Not to many people go to Shell.

Vancouver wa was 3.20 at arco for regular. I feel for you all too. I own two trucks, wy work truck gets about 14 miles a galon and my boss wont pay for gas even though aI carry all his tools everywhere and my lifted explorer that I proudly get about 10. My wife has a thirty mile car and she will be crying as soon as I get the mustang done for her to drive as a daily driver. Do you all watch discovery channel? Future cars had a car on it that went like 200 miles on air presure. I think they said it was selling for around 14000 in I believe it was norway. Now I dont know about you But I would be willing to buy something like that if all I had to do was pay for the electricity to run my air compressor.

Yeah, Jim is a fart smeller,. er ,,, a smart feller. The price of gas will continue to rise throughout the summer, then will take a fall in prices during the fall and winter. That has been going on for several years now. If you analyze the salary ratio to gas prices, we are getting a better ratio than we did from the 50's. I paind 35 cents for a gallon of gas back then, but I only made 60 cents an hour. Do the math.
