Default Odd turn signal problem

hey guys, this is my first post andi come to you with a question that has been picking at me for a long time. i have a 66 fastback and when i turn on my left blinker the right one turns on as well with the left blinking at normal brightness and the right blinking at about half the brightness. when i use the right blinker everything is normal. this only happens in the front. the taillights are completely normal. anyone know what's going on? [sm=wtf.gif]
thanks in advance [sm=yeahsmile.gif]

Bad wire. Tracethe wires and check for a bad ground or they are touching somewhere along the path. Use this graph, blow it up a little so it's readable and see what the wire color is that leads to the left trun signal.

Possible trouble locations: in the turn signal switch under the steering wheel; at the connection under the dash coming out of the steering column; at the firewall connector. I would pull the steering wheel first.

great, thanks for the advice guys. i'll keep all that in mind. does this sound like a failed mechanism/connector problem or do you think it has something to do with wear and tear/overlapping of the wires themselves?

Check out the latest edition of Mustang Monthly. There is a section on electrical problems including turn signals. While you're at it, subscribe (I think I said this before).
