It's been a while!
Hi guys. I joined last year after I bought a 65 coupe, but didn't have much of a chance to post. I got into an accident last fall and have been sitting on the wreckage until recently. I had issues even finding a shop that would work on the Mustang through the insurance company. Now that things are finally rolling, I'm hoping I'll have it painted and ready to finish motor/interior in a month or so.
We're going with the original Poppy Red exterior and Black interior (with a few modifications to the dash.) My first questions concern engine details. I have a set of the infamous GT40P heads with valves and saddled rockers. What do I use as far as pushrods for this setup on my 289? I've read in a couple places stock 289 rods work, but I'm skeptical. Anybody with experience on this? Most of the info regarding these heads is on later-model 302 blocks.
Thanks for any answers!

Welcome back not so new n00b!
with mildly modded engines stock type rods should be able to handle it, but if you want to step it up a notch get some good welded cromoly rods. its your choice, the cromoly rods are expensive, in fact most rods are expensive. i had to buy summit brand cause i didnt have enough cash[
