69 mach1 428 surging issue - need help!!!
Hi! I have a 69 Mach1 428cj 4speed. I recently had the engine rebuilt and sent the Click on the link for additional information about this term from our glossary.', this, event, tipwidth)" onmouseout=delayhidetip() href="http://insanemustangs.com/forums/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101" ?>Carburetor (Holly 4150) into Pony Carburetors to have it restored and plated. When I sent it in, I provided all of the details of what slight modifications were done to the engine. Including the details of the high performance cam.
When I received the carb back, and my father installed it, we were having an issue with the car surging. After he messed with the timing and tried a few things. I called Pony Carburetors back, and found that they mistakenly forgot to meter the carb to the cam. So I sent the carb back again.
I now have the carb back, it's been installed yet again, and still having issues with the car surging.

The original has 4 holes. The new one Pony Carburetors sent has the whole center cut out, instead of 4 holes. Almost like a square cut out. I called Pony Carburetors to ask them if what they sent was correct. They reassured me that, the Click on the link for additional information about this term from our glossary.', this, event, tipwidth)" onmouseout=delayhidetip() href="http://insanemustangs.com/forums/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=167" ?>Gasket they sent was what they send with all of the carburetors and I shouldn't have any issues with it. My dad and I are still questioning if that is correct.
Because of this, the second time we got the carb back, he decided to use the old Click on the link for additional information about this term from our glossary.', this, event, tipwidth)" onmouseout=delayhidetip() href="http://insanemustangs.com/forums/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=167" ?>Gasket instead of the one Pony Click on the link for additional information about this term from our glossary.', this, event, tipwidth)" onmouseout=delayhidetip() href="http://insanemustangs.com/forums/glossary.php?do=viewglossary&term=101" ?>Carburetor sent. Still surging.
My dad checked for a vacuum leak today around the carb, but didn't find any.
I wanted to check to see if anyone had any other ideas or suggestions.
Here are the details of the cam.
Crower Cam Part # 16241
Intake: Duration 280 degrees
Lift .537
Exhaust: duration 286 degrees

Any help or suggestion are appreciated
