I could say 'Boo' and you will reply, just to have the last word. That's not arguing...

ENOUGH!!!! This site: http://www.earlham.edu/~byersjo/top50.htm lists the 50 fastest 60's/early 70's musclecars, their 1/4 mile times, when and who performed the test. READ IT and keep in mind that all test cars are ringers in some way. There is no way on God's green earth a Boss 9 would run 12's in street trim with the street tires available 35 years ago.

And BTW, the Boss 9 wasn't built for drag racing or NASCAR. It was created to satisfy the rule that only engines available in production cars could be used in NASCAR. It is an awesome machine none the less.

That's why I made the statement about "ringers". The point was to compare the boss 351 and 429 times. Can we put this thread to bed?

You are right on target Syntax. If you want a quick car, get a small block, but if top speed is desired, get a big block.

Sounds like a good book. I'll definitely be putting that on my list of books to get. And I'm not saying that the 351 is slow. I know it kicked a$$ as well, and would kill to have one. Have always thought of it right up there with the best of the best Mustangs. And...don't worry. No offense taken. I can handle it when somebody disagrees with me. Just glad we can have a discussion like this without either of us getting offensive toward the other. But on this, maybe it's just to agree to disagree. OK?
