Default Engine Parts

My Dad is the original owner of a 1965 Mustang with 137,000 miles on her. Two of the cylinders are down to 20 lbs of pressure instead of 100 lbs. He wants to know what is the difference in the car's integrity and value if he uses new parts to rebuild versus original (numbered) parts -- anyone have any idea?
Thanks,

Default RE: Engine Parts

Depends on what all you are doing?and is this car a c code 65 with auto cuz if so many made they dont carry enough value to really hurt.If youre just going to freshen up the motor(new rings and stuff) then it wont hurt value cuz 1.no one can see and 2.its more valuable to have a "freshened" up motor. And new motors have new technology behind them and therefore a lot of times are better than the originals.
