I am either talking to a bunch of teenager kids or a bunch of drunkards, but the trunk floor mats were checkered originally. If you want to put in some other stupid things, then so be it, but originallity is where I am coming from.

Not everyone is out for origionality. Sometimes the designs and marterials used back then were stupid and worthless! No offence to origionality but I like to be able to call my car one of a kind. Not #205645 of the same production model. It's one thing to restore a car to the way it cam off the factory line, but it's a totally different thing to make a car truely one of a kind. And if you dislike baddog for adding a mat to his trunk your gonna hate me when I get my custom audio setup in my trunk. I'm working on a custom box that wraps the entire trunk.

I don't hate anyone for doing what they wish to their cars, I just like to own a clean original looking mustang. If you guys want to put foam dice on your rear view mirror, that's fine with me.

Hey man, there's nothing wrong with making your car how you want it. They did it back in the 60's and are still doing it today. If you find a mat that has the running horse in it, let me know because I'd love to have something like that. As for cutting a pair of grandpa's pants and leaving it in my trunk... mabe I'll do that when I'm 50 and restoring a 'classic' 90's era muscle car...
But I for one don't want the poor handling, crumby brakes, and overweight designs, so I'm going to upgrade as much of my car as I can before completing it.... Alternator for my stereo and other electronics instead of the overweight/underpowered generator..... rack and pinion with a tilt column instead of the sloppy and inaccurate factory steering... power disc brakes for safety... what good is a classic car if it's wrecked because you couldn't control it? Sorry my reasoning is consistant with a drunk teenager... I'll go put my 1/2" front sway bar back on...

I got a set of 17" Cobra R Wheels and tires for free too. Who's gonna say no to that?
