Has anyone around here ...
built a restomod 64-66? Well I know that is a redundant question. Most likely everyone has. I was just wondering what do yall do to your restomods? I’m currently building a 65 coupe into one. It was my Grandmothers with: a Tropical Turguoise coat, 289 2 barrel, C4, power steering, black standard interior, and A/C. Needless to say, this is not a rare car. So Im making it into one XP. Im putting in a strong newer mustang’s 5.0 (if I could ever find one) a t-5, AQU/WHT pony interior, and a 67 Clearwater AQU coat. I have been documenting the rebuild and if it is permitted I’ll post it on here as I go. SO…any suggestions from any of you?
342 Stroker (huge list of go fast goodies), t5 5 speed, shelby control arm drops, negative wedge kit, 17x8's, performance leafs, roll cage, locker, 3.80 gears, Subframes, full fuel system, fiberglass hood, the list goes on and on and on. It's a lot more work than u think it will be man. These old unibodys weren't built for huge power.
If you're looking for a 5.0 I've got a block, full rotating assembly, heads, basically a full long block. Also I have quite a few miscellaneous parts I need to get rid of. I live in an apartment and the back porch is running out of room.
Oh yeah there is one h#ll of a list of the go fast goods.I am getting a Shelby Front Apron that keeps the bumper and a front spolier (through demand of my father.) I would like to put on fiberglass fenders andhood as well, but I am a starving student. I'm also replacing theleaf springs with a 5or 5.5 leaf spring (195 or 300lb rated.)I have no idea what gear ratio is in this car...yet, but I want to keep a 3.55-3.73 rear end in there so I can cruise down the highway in this car without killing the engine. Plus,I do have a a set of 17x8 Cragers, but they are from a 69 Vette with a 427 so I doubt they will fit.
But you have a 5.0 huh? Where do you live (close to FL?)and how complete is it.

Check out my website for a few ideas. It's 'sort of' a restomod... Get your dad to look at it too, because there's lots of items on it that focus on safety and reliability.
