Default help motor problems....

Hi everyone, I own a 1969 mach 1 351 winsor, and just did a rebuilt on my motor... well everything is put in... my motor is shaking to much when i have it at 2000 rpm or higher.... so first thing was i changed the sparkpugs and there ok i have them at gapped at 35... and the wires are new but i changed them aswell.... so the only thing i can think of is changed the vales maybe there to tight on my rockers.... well when i put my hand behind the exuast you feel the heat but it feels like it goes on and off... on and off.... its should keep flowing... please if anyone has any ideas... because this is giving me to much ..... im trying to get her on the road....

So main problem is that the motor moves to much when its at 2k rpm... not at idle.... and all the motor mounts are tight.

thanks you guys

Did you put the same harmonic balancer and the same flex plate back on? It sounds like something is out of balance with the rotating assy.

Could even be a vacuum problemleaning out the mixture. If it does it in neutral as well you can rev the engine until it starts shaking and then spray carb cleaner around the carb and the manifold joints. If there is a leak it will smooth out when it is sprayed with the cleaner.

Also may have a plug wire breaking down at higher voltages. I've even seen a bad condensor cause this.

get a vaccum gauge on there see what your vac is and go from there sounds like timing or valvetrain issue to me

Your engine is missing on one or more cylinders. They aren't firing. So, triple check that you have the right firing order and your wires are hook up to the right cylinders. If that doesn't solve it, then double check the settings on your valves. If you don't know how, look in the FAQ section under engines and get the tech article from there.
