Default Its that time of the mustangs life...

Alright well my Transmission is out of the car.... my initial reason was to replace the front seal due to an enormous leak (about 1 qt every couple days) and after a full day of fighting and bickering with my car I got it out so I am feeling a rebuild now while its out (plus a shift kit) just so that I know I wont have to do this again any time soon.... what do you guys think? what would be the best rout for this? wheres Thumpen455 been, hes great with this stuff.

Oh, and numbers that I pulled from the Trany were.... Fomoco P7006 (on the case) and RFC6DP7A040 (on the tail housing) and an A under the 4 and a 3 under the A... what does it mean, because I don't want to buy parts for a transmission I don't have.

How do you stroke a transmission?
The engine is fine (for now), I don't have enough money to do both, and I have to have all of this done within a week due to relatives coming in town for my brothers wedding...

Oh and soaring I tried that site (and a bunch like it) and it doesn't match up with the numbers I have.

I am still not sure what I am going to do, the more I think about it the more I think that I should just do the seals now (not rebuild) and do more research so that when the time comes for it to be rebuilt I can take my time and make sure I get everything done correctly...

working on the trany I noticed that next to the number P70006 It had a really faded C6P before that which is what was missing in order to decode my trany number
