Remember the Aussie blocks that Bill Elliot used? Nothing but 351 BOSS blocks. Ford decided we didn't need BOSS stuff and sent it to Austraila for use in trucks. Bill's dad was a Ford dealer and knew some inside guys at Ford who supplied them with all the BOSS 351 stuff they could use. When Ford came back to NASCAR with Cale Yarbourough and they couldn't keep motors together while Bill was killing everybody and never granading a motor Ford just happened to break the molds down under!!
Wasen't that NICE of them?

the difference is the american 2 bbl cleve had smaller (streetable performance) ports but a large chamber for lower compression. the american 4 bbl cleve had larger (racing performance) ports with a small chamber for higher compression. the "aussie" cleve head uses the american 2 bbl ports and the american 4 bbl chambers. basically, it takes the best features from each american flavor. these are the heads of choice for smaller cubic inch "clevor" builds.

i want the 4 bbl heads, but i also want to use em on a larger displacement 400+ cubic inch stroker motor

I guess you know you are bidding on2 chunks of iron. Those heads have no valves, springs, puch rodsor any other parts on them to be able to call them heads. Good luck collecting all those parts.

not that i would use the old stuff anyways on a performance build, but the auction did say to let them know if you wanted a set with the small parts. i suppose if the intake valves were in good shape i would reuse them, but i would certainly replace the exhaust side, and new (stiffer) springs/retainers/keepers

Soaring,

Finding parts for the Cleveland heads isn't too hard you'd be surprised. My Dad my brothers and my self are building Clevelands to put into our Street Stock car. We haven't had too many problems coming up with parts yet even though those blocks are dinosaurs. I'm actaully really excited about the price on these heads I'm interested to see what my dad says when he sees them.

if your building a roundy round car you would WANT the big 4v ports though[8D] (and a 351w block for less weight)
