Default Turn signals

When ever your turn on the left or right turn signal both of them blink together like the hazard lights. I pulled the dash apart looking for a short or something like that. I could not find one. The hazard lights are working like they should;they are on a separate flasher. I think it might be the switch in the steering column. When you turn the wheel you can hear something rubbing in the column. Is there something else I should be looking at? Are they any tricks in pulling the wheel to replace the blinker switch?

Bye the way I got my speedometer fixed.

First you need a steering wheel puller.
- To fix your problem, the easiest way is to remove the entire steering column tube. This makes it easier to get the old wiring out and the new in. DO NOT MESS UP THE CONNECTORS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TUBE, there are no replacements. To remove the wires from the connector, you need a contact remover (NPD 957-2 $13.50, 2007 cat Pg 197).Make a sketch of which wire goes where before you remove the wires.
You should consided a new bearing, top bushing, bottom bushing (seal)and firewall seal when you order parts. As long as the tube is out, sand and paint it.
Contact the forum again for insatallation tips.

National Parts Depot 2007. I use them as a reference mostly, but it seems that they are the only ones I've seen with that type of removal tool. There may be others.
