Default U-Joint Clank

A couple weeks ago, I tightened up my parking brake cable (that little nut thing) and after driving the car, it goes CLANK CLANK CLANK because it is hitting one of the cables or something. Problem is, when I loosened it, it still hits. So, I have to pick between a parking brake or an annoying CLANK...how can I fix this?

sounds like you either have part of the handbrake bracketry missing or bent...the cable shouldnt hit the drive shaft...need some pics from underneath.

Really? Mine touches the driveshaft a lot. The "Y" bar hits the U-joint (for now) and the cable to the passenger side Rear brake hits the driveshaft. Thought it was just supposed to be that way. I looked underneath it all, and it doesn't look like I'm missing anything...
