Default Difference? Suggestions?

I was just wondering the real difference betweenQuarter Panelskins and full Quarter Panels. What are each applications. Right now my cars quarter panel is rusted out completely in the lowerrear sectionand ALL around the fender flare. Is it possible to use a skin or are skins thiner/weaker?

Default RE: Difference? Suggestions?

The main difference will be the amount of welding. I always suggest that if you can remove the rusted part and replace it with sections of a skin ,do it. It keeps more of the orginal sheet metal. And there's no real reason to change out most of the metal in a qtr panel anyway. Now if you aren't that good at welding and you want to minimize the amount of welds, then I suggest the full qtr. You'll weld where the sail panel meets the roof,. The door jamb assembly and where thetrunk floor meets the panel. Alawys go with patching first. Buy a skin and cut the sections you need from it.
