Default 9" rear end question

Will aFord 9 inch rear end out of a 1971 f100 sport custom fit into my 1967 Mustang Coupe?

The rear axle on a 67 Mustang is 59.25 inches from flange to flange. Find out what the length of the axle on that truck is and answer your own question.
On edit: I re-read your post and see that the rear is a local thing. Just take your trusty tape measure over there and measure it.

Would the bolt circle be the same? You should double check that as well.

I think an F100 uses a five bolt Ford mounting. An F150 (F250 ?)can have a six bolt. My E250 Van has an 8 bolt so anything is possible.

I asked these questions...and this is the reply...

i do not know exactly what you mean "from flange to flange" but i have some mesurements thatmight help you

From he outside of the brackets where the leaf springs mount is 43 inches

From shock mount to shock mount is 35 inches

From inside of break to inside of brake is 53 inches

I hope this helps you and let me know if you are or not interestedanymore

flange to flange means the distance between the plates your wheel studs are pressed into when they are installed in the housing. You can measure this by removing wheels and brake drums.

I'll give you the short answer.... No.

I have a '75 F100 sitting in my yard and a '68 mustang coupe in my garage where I just put the rear axle BACK on. When I was looking for axles I didn't find ANY F100's that would fit my mustang. There are ways to shorten them but I think you want cheap and easy like me.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it won't fit.
