just had a new 302 block built to a 347...but my block is a roller block, that makes a big difference in your cam selection. I bought the TFS Twisted Wedge CNC Ported aluminum heads and their Stage 2 Cam (its really a rebranded Crane Cam, specs are .542/.563 lift, 224 duration at .050)......

You would be able to use those heads, but the cam is not going to work in a 289 block Take a look at the Comp Cams XE cams....something over .500 lift for the strokers, but not too crazy or your immediately gonna have to redo trans and rear end befre you can even drive it.

You need to plan your work and work your plan. Don't go spending money on a bunch of mis-matched parts that won't work together. Plan ahead, if you are going to put a blower on this thing you'll need a different compression ratio than if it's naturally aspirated or sprayed. If you have to have your heads redone, it might not be too much more money to buy aftermarket aluminum heads that will not only flow better but will save weight as well. All I'm saying is not to jump into this thing without thinking it through all the way and you'll be money ahead.

good idea.. yea i havent fully commeted on any parts just yet...i still prob.. have untill august and then i should have the plan on what i am doing and then i will get everything installed.. it just sucks cause i know now that since i am upgrading the power i have to get rid off that "one wheel peel" and hopefully get different gears and such..

does anybody have an idea on how much it would be to install a 331 stroker kit??? somebody has to of gotten it done before???
