Default reman autolite 4100's

It turns out that many parts stores have remanufactured 4100's for 60's 289's. I've got enough parts and experience to "check their work".

There are a couple of versions...Does anyone have a carb service tag number off a 1966 v8 C4 car (A-code)? I think I am going to go ahead and order and see what arrives (there is no obligation to buy). Could you imagine if you could buy K-code carbs this way? LOL

You are unlikely to get a 289 version with 1.08" venturi. Advance Auto parts list the part numbers available for the 4100 and they are all 352, 390 1.12" variety.

I'll try it out and see what comes in! Its worth a try given that you do not have to pay for it unless it meets expectations upon arrival...

I had access to an auto parts warehouse a few years back and all the rebuilt 4100 carburetors I looked at were other than Mustang types. Some went back to a1961 352 CID engines. On the other hand, I found a correct distributor including the date code in the same store. Make a list of the 'cast in' codes located on the left front mounting ear for the carbs that apply.

i work for checker schucks Kragen and the part number for a 4100 is different between the 390, 352, and 289 therefor i am assuming that they have the 1.08

Well go check your inventory for the 289 application.
