There are a lot of them out there, but there are a lot more for Windsor blocks than ther are for 335 blocks. FEs and 385s are easier to find than Clevelands. Only 10yrs of the 335 series and most vehicles were not desireable and crushed in the late 80s and early 90s. That is why I am keeping my FMX in the shed.

Thanks ghetto, I can't wait to hear the new engine through those pipes. ( Should wake the niehbors.)

So far the rear end is done with new brakes and shocks to go with it. The tranny is in the shop. The block and heads are due back from the machine shop any day now!?! The machine shop has been so slow due to race season and they lost a few employees. They said they were going to give me a deal on a set of Kieth Black 10.5 pistons for being so slow. The cam that was ordered came in wrong and had to be sent back.

It never fails, I'm in a hurry and the rest of the world is out to slow me down. I want my Mustang back!!!

what was the cam your going to be running? since my 351C was a 2V the maching shop said since i was streeting it only to run with the 4V cam (cant remember the numbers have to dig out paperwork) which would give low end with out sacrificing drivability on street. i remember my old neighbors...they didnt like the fact that i would run the car with headers and very short pipes only..lol. have fun and good luck!

I had a Comp Cams 265h in it, but I am going with a 268 now. I think it is good from 1500rpms -6000rpms.My old engine was only 7.5:1 and my new one is going to be 10:1. The machine shop is going to work over the 2v heads and it is going to be balanced. I don't know a lot about building engines so I told my mechanic what I was wanting and I am going with his suggestions.

My neighbors are going to hate this new engine through headers straight into the side pipes.

I cleaned out the engine bay and it looked worse than I thought it would. Sprayed it down with some black engine paint.

Nice sportsroof. Its good to see one that is in one piece and all one color. The one I see most often is difficult to tell that its even a Mustang. Most people have to ask what it is or was. I wish it was as clean as yours are.

A C4 will work, the FMX will work and you can use the breakaway converter from TCI, its only $299. the FMX is a healthy trans, the only problems they really have is leaks from the use of cast iron and aluminum for the case, and limited choices for the converter. the C6 soaks up a bunch of power just to turn it, but it will be bulletproof behind your mild 351. If you have the right C6 case..

Cleveland and the Windsor have the exact same bolt pattern for the trans. The one that is different is the 351/400M, it uses the same pattern as the 429/460. Most people get confused with the 351s, especially the M vs C because they look very similar. So if you have a post 74 C6 from behind a 351M it isnt going to work for you.

The 268 cam will work pretty good. Nice mild, and plenty of low end torque. With 2V heads you wont come near 10:1 without milling them and using dome pistons. With todays gas you dont want to run that much compression anyway. The small cam would only make the pinging worse if you got it to 10:1.

With 2V heads, a 4v carb, headers, and the 268 cam figure around 300-320 hp relatively easily. It should be a fun ride when you get it back together, makes me envious since mine is still a long time from moving under its own power with actual paint on it..

Man I am envious, my Mig has burned through two 5 1/4" grinding discs. The Cougar is coming along, the Mustang will get some work here soon, when the Cougar has paint, and I just have to finish the rest of the projects so I have something to drive. I need the parts chaser done.. I should be outside working on it right now.. I am lazy or something
