Default blown head gasket

heymy friend hada blown head gasket, i guess he took the head down and got them worked on..and so he'sback to putting his engine together... then he asked me a question, but i wasnt quite sure about... he asked me "so i have drained all the oil/water from the bottom of the oil pan. do i put something special in theoil" and i wasnt too sure so i figured i'd ask you guys since you guys have probably expirenced this before... oh i did mention that i had heard a few different things to do from different ppl. like 1) add 3 qts straight 30 wieght oil, and 2 qts diesle fuel (all in the oil system) run the car til hot and then drain. then add normal oil and ur good to go... the other one is 2) just go down and buy the crappiest oil u can get and maybe some additive and run the car til hot and then drain and just add normal oil and ur good to go on that too.. are any of these good ideas???? any advise i could give my friend we'd both apreciate it.

ohh i forgot to mention... when he pulled it apart he had that whipped oil/water stuck in the corners of the valve cover and so he's just worried it might be on the bottom of his pistons or something

Yeah, I have known guys who supposedly clean the inside of their engines by using oil and diesel, but I have had more sense than to try that. Just use whatever weight oil you are used to and don't worry about cleaning the inside of your engine.

the whole point is to clean the water out ASAP. whatever he dumps in there, run it for like 10 minutes and then drain. do not give the water any more time than needed to circulate around that motor and potentially screw up a bearing.

i have used kerosene in the gas as fuel system cleaner (it works) and if you smell motor flush oil treatment it smells like kerosene or diesel fuel too. i wouldnt have a problem using it, prolly like 1/2 to 1 quart then the rest oil and again - drain after a couple minutes of runtime.
