I have a 70 LTD on around 180,000 miles that came stock with an automatic tranny & a 351 Windsor which runs great. Could you please tell me about how much the engine / tranny are worth, thanks.
I think that's pretty obvious. Have you checked with Craigslist and Ebay to see what an equivalent engine and transmission is selling for? That's what I would do. ButIMO that old 351 is on its' last legs before a major overhaul needs to happen so don't hope for much, especially if the buyer is not local and has to pay for shipping or has to come pick it up. I would guestimate anywhere between 500-800 bux.
He's asking about the engine and transmission, but yeah, if the rest of the car is for sale, there are some parts such as the rear and disk brakes that are worth some moolah.
I was thinking about using the 351W but I'm too busy now & it would be nice to finish my other projects. So yeah I'm selling the whole car, just making sure I don't get ripped off. So if it has the 9 inch & disc brakes w/ the 351W what's the ballpark figure? Thanks for helping me out guys, I really appreciate it.
If you had the time to take the individual parts off and sell them separately, you would make more money than selling the whole car. Unfortunately a 1970 worn out LTD isn't worth much. Try to get about 1,200 for it if you can.

I bought the engine core represented in my signature early this year for $400.00.
It came out of a 70 LTD, in running condition with the C-6, and enough parts to consider it a "runner".
