I guess I have a restomod.
Say it aint so, Joe. What's next, non stock wheels and tires? [8D]

Scuf23 - make sure all connections are clean and tight. I would take the battery and starter to a parts store for a test.

this is one of those times when having one of those portable jumpstart packs would be handy. Not only will they help with a weak battery, but I've even used them to start a car that had a bad cell (couldn't evenbe jumped by another car). It's a very handy thing to have when you get stuck, but in this case it could have saved you from needing to take the battery in for testing.

had this issue a lot of times. ... until I bought proper jump leads. The **** you get at petrol stations with plastic clams and thin wire isn't worth 2 cents.
Go for a cable you'd use on a truck and then you won't have this problem anymore

Yeah, when you jump from another car battery, you aren't jumping through the weak or dead battery, but around it. Kalli is right in that you need good quality cables.

Really basic, but did you get any paint on the terminal(s)? Even a little will increase the contact resistance and cause hard (or non-) starting.

I'd make sure the motor is free to spin...stick a wrench on the crankshaft and make sure the darn thing isn't locked up somehow.
