What do you consider your car to be?
There are probably only a few 100% original cars left in the country. Things just wear out and need to be replaced. Probably what you mean is concours restoration, which sounds like it's well defined but you can get a thorough bred ribbon and still have non "original" stuff on your car. So may be what you're asking is what is the intention of the owner.
Even the term restomod is difficult. To me there is a difference between period correct, i.e. stuff that could have been done when the car was close to new, and modernized. For example SBS disk brakes are basically the same design as the optional disks available in the day, where as modern cobra brakes (13") rotors are an alteration to anything Ford ever designed.
I think there is plenty of room in the hobby so each owner can "have it your way". However, I will admit that significant changes to the classic lines, such as lambo doors and wings makes me wonder.

Simple answer: modified. I don't label it as a restomod as I usually think of scoops, digital guages, etc., but by what appears to be the official definition, I guess it, like most early Mustangs is.
I am just getting to the paint and body, but whenmy'65 fastbackis complete, it will look factory stock. There will be no GT lights, stripes, exhaust trumpets, etc. (BTDT with a factory GT), the paint will be the original color and the wheels are styled steel. Its stance is slightly lower due to the Global West suspension.
The interior will also appear bone stock, right down to the factory AM radio, factory look T-5 shifter lever and all original color. The one deviation from stock appearance is the addition of 3-point seatbelts.
The driveline will give me away as not being stock if it is seen or heard.
Essentially, I started with a nearly rust-free car with all original wiring intact, uncut dash and most factory parts in place. The engine and tranny were gone, so going with a built 351W and T-5 that I already had (since replaced with a Ford Racing 302) was an easy swap.
I could see myself doing a complete factory like restoration some distant day, perhaps in retirement.

Mine is a definitely a Restomod.
I think the original drum brake shoes were replaced about 35 years ago. Right around that time the tires need to be replaced, too. I can't prove it, but I think the fan belt is NOT original. Also, I had to replace parts of the fuel and vacuum hoses (damn dry rot). Of course, I can't guess how many spark plugsthe mustang has gone through but the threads still work great! And thenthere's the oil changes. God only knows how much my car would have been worth had I saved the original oil from the factory. Doh, forgot about the Pertronix, too (but I won't double count the points that were replaced before that). Shoot, who could forget the windshield that got cracked by a stray rock only a few years back! Paint...well, that's not even the color that is identified on my tag. Oh dear, I re-upholstered the seats...and the carpet.
SON OF A ... I just remembered about GASOLINE!!!

who cares. I'm tired of talking about it.

.On the other hand, original or mod., as long as we all have fun with our cars, thats all that matters.
My coupe is by no means a 100% original car. It has new metal in spots, a 4v vs a 2v, dual exhaust v single, pretronix ignition, different wheels and a few other minor items. To me it looks stock not restomod, that said, do I have an original, restomod or MODIFIED stang?? I dont know and I really dont mind what the classification is, as long as its what I want

Good old conner90, you picked up on the flaw. This poll is lacking credibility because it neglects the number of cars you might have (I have three left). As a result - no entry from me.
