9" rear question
does anyone seen or heard anything on these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALUMINUM-FORD-9-INCH-REAR-END-FOR-1932-FORD-OTHERS
I haven't seen anything like this for a Ford 9", but Currie Enterprises makes a "Rock Jock" Dana 60 and it works great. IMO, unless you're looking to save unsprung weight, I'd stick to a steel housing and save the money.

A regular steel housing is not that heavy, if your are considering the aluminumhousing for weight reasons you would probably be better off spending your money on a Moser aluminum 3rd member, consider having your ring gear lightened, and maybe have your axles gun drilled. All of those would probably provide more bang for your buck.
The only thing you need to watch out for on the housings is that some of the steelaftermarket ones are built like a tank, which is great for a rock crawler, but bad for a street machine. Same thing goes with some of those super heavy duty ford 9" 3rd member cases, I think the webbed one that Moser sells weighs something like33 pounds, compared toa stock nodular iron case at 22 pounds. I ended up buying the Moser nodular "superlight" case, which is 22 pounds and good up to 600 hp (the aluminum one is about 16-18 pounds).
But... If you are going for Bling, an aluminum housing would be perfect.

i dont like the bolts holding the axle tubes on rather have them welded. id go for a standard housing 9inch if you want something to hold alot of power then go for the 9 inch with the bracing welded on it.
If done correctly, those bolts will be just fine. The tubes should be pressed in and the bolts just keep it from spinning. If you look at any Dana axle, Ford 8.8 or any housing with a cast iron pig, you'll see that the tubes are held in with a rosette weld instead of a bolt.
