I have found the adapters on ebay too.. they cost like 140 for all four.. however will that solve my problem? Just get the adapter and some 17" american racing torqs? No rubbing or spacing issues??
thanks you guys

You should upgrade your car to a 5 lug setup, this will also give you the benefit of better braking.
If you think this is 'too expensive' or 'too hard' your next recourse would be to call one of those companies that MAKES the adaptors (not just sells them) and ask them if they will make you a custom set to add 5 lug wheels to a 4 lug car.
Crager also makes a nice little wheel that is 4 lug. Its style is a little 'dated' but hey....its a mag wheel.

Series 320
I have Torque Thrust II 17x8 with 245/45 tires with no spacer plate and a 4.5" backspace on my 5 lug car. They are bordering on too wide, as a matter of fact I am going to have to roll the fenders some more or buy new tires. So I would guess that with a spacer you would have problems with this setup. Even if you dropped to 215-225 width I think the spacer would be too much on 8" wheels.
If you like the look of the styled steel wheels and they are available in 4 lug I would go that way. Personally I love that look and if I had kept the I6 in my car I would have done exactly that. It's cheaper, period correct, and stylish.

Why not just get rims made for a Fox Body? They're all 4 lug. You can get 4 lug Cobras like rmodel's, Pony Rims, or some ugly terbines
