Default 66 mustang thermactor?

I went out today to check my timing, and my shop manual claims 12 degrees for a standard 200cid I6 engine on a 66 coupe, and TDC for a 200cid with thermactor emissions control. I can't find a picture of what it looks like, if it is a bolt on part. Anyone know what they look like or how to tell?

Thanks

Thanks man, you answered what I needed much faster than looking through those 40 year old shop manual pages. I haven't seen anything like the thermactor on your photo, so i'll try your timing setup! Thanks!

Only cars sold in California after January 1, 1966 have thermactors. That would be DSO's of 71, the L. A. area and 72, San Jose area. The rest of the world did not have them installed. Strangly enough, many 1966 cars in California with DSO's of 71 and 72 have had their thermactor systems fall off. I mayself, have had a car or two that had this tragedy occur (wink).
