Default Finally Painted!

Well, I finally got my '65 painted, I'm so happy! It took me two 12 hour days for taping off the car, spraying the base and spraying the clear, plus another couple months for sanding it and primering it, but she's finally painted. The only problem is that I need to re-do the clearcoat, my uncle didn't like how it "blended", I thought it was fine, but oh well. Tell me what you guys think. I'll try to get more pics later, but my computer's being retarted right now.

Like the color. Your uncle must be really picky or else the problem didn't show in the picture. Congrats.

He's pretty picky about stuff like this, he tried showing me, but I could really see what he was talking about.

Is it your car? If it isI don't see why you would worry about your uncle's opinion that much. Great looking job though. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Very nice job, it looks clean too. I have only had the chance to paint in a booth once, so I usually end up with some sh... stuff in the finish that I usually decide to live with.

Ifit is as clean as it looks, where did you paint that the car?

After doing several "back yard" paint jobs, I have come to a point where I settle for "good enough", as sometimes when trying to fix an imperfection, I end up worse than where I started...

One time years ago, I was painting my sisters Mustang (fox), a large fly landed in the wet clearcoat on the roof, so I cleared over it,the car got both a mascot, and a new name. We called the car "the fly". I was going to fix it, didn't get around to it for a while,,, the car had an engine fire,,,,, and was sold. Oh well....

Sounds like the uncle is a major source of information and assistance. When I'm in the uncle's position, I develop a bad attitude when my instructions aren't followed. May be I should be a better person, but that's what self improvement courses are for. I vote for following the uncle's advice.
