Is $250 a good price for a used one out ofa crown victoria to replace the c4 that i have now?

How many miles on the AOD? low miles, good price. But if you have to rebuild it then I would rethink it and get pricing on one already put together, with the correct shift arm on the trans. Column shift AOD's have the arm pointed opposite to the ones that have floor shifters. It's not expensive to change but you do need to take the pan off and remove the shifter from inside.

Are the AODs better than the C4s? I've heard both sides to the argument.
