Your car is beautiful! I love the red stripes onblack, very sharp. That is a good "sleeper" stang!

Timelock,
that is an awesome looking thing

I am inclined to agree with the others about going to a larger wheel diameter but for a different reason...fitment of larger/better brakes. You can get styled steel in 16" now which will look pretty original to the general public. Under that you can fit Wilwoods or other serious brake combos. specially if this beast is to transport family members.

when you geta chance, could you post video of it running..love to hear it

Gotta love it. It's very nicely done.

Were the budget overruns acceptable to management?
Did you have to sleep on the couch?

As a word of caution, I recently started looking for a true performance 14 inch tire and haven't found one yet. Everything I've seen has an "all season" aspect to it and the tread pattern of a snow tire. I may be forced to switch to 15inch styled steel wheels as decent tires can still be had. At least for now.

I was going to say the very same thing.

Dude, go with at least 15's, especially on that baddass fastback.

Timelockmind, you seem to have avoided the wheel size recomendations from fellow posters here.

What are your thoughts?

I gave a great deal of though to the tires/wheels. In my "must have" column were the dual red line tires (the Mustang is the ONLY production car to haveused these and thefore - to me - theybecome an important visual cue).

Since the cokerdual red lines only come in two sizes (both 14 inches) my choice became clear. After seeing the 14X7 on two 66 Shelby's I decided togo with these (even though the all-chrome steel style is not year-correct).

P.S. I know moving up to 15 would give me better performance - but I would have to forgo the dual reds. It's a trade off.

By the way, flooring the Paxton - even in second gear - is a wild experience. I suspect I'll be going through a few sets of tires!!!

Definately a show winner. The love of your car is in the detail. When you drive the car around town you will feel different and young again, guaranteed ( if you're over 40).

Valley firearms:

You are very perceptive - yes, I am over 40 and yes, specialis exactly how my car makes me feel!

Funny story - I was in Santa Barbara today at the Four Seasons (they have a small but great beach in front of the hotel). Anyway, there were two showroom new, very strikingLamborghini Gallardos - one orange, one green - parked next to each other in the circular along with my fastback. Guess what? When I came out a couple, two famlies and the vallet were checking outmy Mustang leaving the two bulls without an audience. I wish I'd had my camera!

By the way, I am not an attention seeker by nature but did indeed take pride in the attention. I was flattered.

I'd sure many of you have had a similar experience. Please share.
