Default Front seats for a 66

Hi guys.

I've got a problem with the front seats.. i dont mind them too much but my old man does.. hes got some serious back problems and can't sit in the car for more then ½ an hour.

so i've decided to get new 'modern' seats that so that he can come along for a ride aswell.

i know mustangsplus have some new 'perfect fit' front seats for my year but they're a bit hard to get to because i have no credit card and i live in sweden so i'm a bit out of options on that one.

however i am open for suggestions on seats from ooo lets say an oldbmw or some more popular brand that i can get my hands on over here.

i'd appriciate if someone could give some suggestions.

thanks in advance // Jeppe

Measure the distance between the seat tracks then go hunting in a recycling yard. Most any seat with the right width will work by installing the seat tracks from your car on the new seat. One thing to watch out for is the height of the seat bottom. Too plush and your legs will jam into the steering wheel.

I don't think that I can give any recomendations on a specific set of seats to use, other than the Recaro's that TimeLock put in his car, those looked mighty nice, but I think that with a little thought and the productuionof some stout "addapter plates" just about any seat can be made to fit. Being in Europe, I am sure that there are lots of good seats that could be swapped into your Stang. So basicly, what I am saying is in most cases your decision should not be limited by how the seats bolt to the floor, this can be changed!! The possibilities are endless....

What are his back problems? Perhaps a lumbar support pillow and/or seat wedge which raises his hips may help. According to my MRI report, I "obliterated" two discs at the ripe age of 33. [] Anyway, after three months of physical therapy I was pretty much good to go. One of the things I learned was that deep bucket seats can actually be more uncomfortable for some back injuries. The PT gave me a seat wedge which raises the hips closer to nee height which really helped a lot. For most of my cars I don't need it any more, however, I still use is on my Jeep from time to time.

Good luck!

The leather seats in my Mach are very comfortable. The driver's side is all electric and also has a lombar support that you can adjust.

The upgrade seats for that year were much more "plush". Whether that translates into comfort for your rider is another story. I think the advice given so far should get you on your way.

allright thanksfor the adviceguys

gothand, he's got a "slipped disc".

i'm gonna call around some junkyards and see if they got any decent seats.. the addapter plates shouldn't be a problem.

other then that i found a recaro modell that fits in well with the rest of the interior.. seems to be sort of an order product..

again .. thanks for the advise
