Show judging question
Its hard to tell if someones car is a concours correct car to begin with cause that means nothing can be replaced such as thermostat housings, timing covers. You can buy concourse correct parts but it wouldn't mean your car is totally concours correct. Most people have swapped out parts on there car with mixed years and don't even notice it. I have seen a guy a the route 66 car show that said it was all orginal but he had a 65 with 67 wheel emblems and he didn't even know. The judges didn't even catch it. So just dress it up the way you want it.

Jeremy, You must have an extensive background in judging. Have you entered many of your cars to be judged? Do you have a copy of the Shelby rules or Mustang Club of America in your garage? Remember, there are many classes of cars and the rules are different for each.

Before you guys continue to guess wrong, how about reading the MCA judging rules.

I'm not guessing wrong. I'm reading the rule book and applying it the best I can. Check out the modified class.

Oh yeah it matters so much...I get a kick out of these cars that have every assembly line chalk mark on the fire wall, and the front springs hit with the correct lavender colored paint. The decals on at the exact locations in the engine bays. Then I walk up to one of the judges and I ask. "How come none of these concours vehicles have the hood insulation mounted to the underside of the hood?" They never have an answer. I bet you can buy air from the production year of your vehicle ,so you can inflate the tires with the correct atmosphere and humidity. But not a soul bolts on the hood insulation. Except me.
Can't think of one 64 to 73 Mustang with hood insulation. Can you? I get a kick (your words -remember) out of the so called expertscoming up to me and telling me about their grandfather's original 63 Mustang. Wow!
