towing my stang
i need to get my project out of storage and into my garage. at the time i need to move it i only have access to a two wheel dolly. no brakes on my car so i cant just tow it. will i need to tow it from the front or from the rear. any input is very appriciated.
id pull the d/s and plug the tranny(if its an auto) in the rear, you can leave the d/s in as long as you arent going long distance say less than 25 miles
It can be pulled from the rear for a short distance. I had mine pulled about 5 miles from the rear one time and not damage occured. However, the recommended direction is from the front. If it is a manual transmission, just put it in neutral. If it is an automatic, then go ahead and pull the drive shaft off and pull it from the front if it is more than 5 miles or so.
if you tow it by the front make sure the rear end is full of oil, my friend towed his car about 1 mile and the rear end locked up when they were towing it.because it had no oil in it. he thought the other guy filled it up and he thought someone else filled it up.
