If it's cast iron, it needs to be painted to prevent rust.

Stripping it will effect performance if you tweak the mating surfaces and get a leak!

Its an Alumminum intake .

ports look to be in great condition ..

just the intake is painted blue .

but its faded ..so i assume when they say needs to be stripped .. it means the paint it has so it wont look all faded and ugly right ?

the intake is in good shape

Now that you've added the material to the question, you might consided a paint remover like Jasco, available at Home Depot, and then some polishing. Or try a machine shop and get it hot tanked - not for a long time - which will loosen up internal crud. Wash itoff with water and like Jeff (gothand) says, check your mating surfaces.

Aircraft remover works great, it will get the paint and the crud.

Get the real stuff, aircraft remover comes in two varieties, regular, and enviro friendly, regular works better.

After you get her stripped and looking good, paint it with a high temp paint. Otherwise you will be facing a cleaning every year.

Is there any chance of the aircraft remover causing any damage to the intake manifold?
