...guess I need to stop giving advice that I haven't actually experienced, but have just read about.
Well... unfortunately I have experience in powdercoating an intake... and quite frankly it wasn't that good. First, it's going to cost you. They will do a professional job of beadblasting then powdercoating...but it's not cheap. The intake below is a Holley Street Dominator and was powdercoated an matching aluminum shade. It cost about $150 in all as I recall.

Second, it's not as durable as you'd think. Note the brownish area down the driverside below the carb. That is where leaking gas stained the powdercoating. It would not come out.

Thirdly, I'm not convinced that putting a thicker coating like powdercoating on top of an aluminum intake does more harm than good by not allowing heat to dissapate as well.

Your choice, but after one time, I wouldn't recommend it.

i forked over 20 something bucks to have a local shop let me get some time in on their glassbead machine and i blasted mine. sure, it will need it done again in a few years but for now it looks good as new and theres nothing to peel, discolor, or hold the heat in.

Being the intake is aluminum, why not media blast it....Glass beads worked great on my intake, and lasted several years before it statred to get dull...

Well yeah! Duh!! Clear coat is nothing more than a plastic coating as such. You need to have it powder coated.
Haha Glen, powdercoating intakes, is that the "in-thing" now?My 5 dollar can of Krylon will do the same thing...
