A perfect day...

I got2 hours of driving time in, a stop at my shop, and an hour of detailing in anticipation of tomorrow's Mustang car show.

Anyway, as I was waiting at a light, a Honda civic with two low-rider types glance over. The driver looks at my ride then gives his passangera very, very subtle nod, and races off. Ooooh that felt good!

But the best was yet to come. A car full of highschool girls screams out that they want totakemy (the car's) photo. Sure! Here we are going 40 with three cell phone cameras snapping away!!!

Oh my, life is grand when your begind the wheel of black/black '66 fastback... or for that matter, any classic Mustang.

not directing this at the original poster but it seems like everyone has an "elaborate" story of how people look at you as if your god driving down the street with jesus and every time they go out in their mustang....

yeah they arent like everyday cars but i havent noticed people....particularly hot girls pulling out cameras and screaming to take pictures of a classic mustang as if it was johnny depp walking down the street or something...and the old car full of of cholo gangsters showing "mad respect" for the mustang.....etc....etc....haha

Timelock, that's awesome. Sounds like you had a great day! Bottom line: Mustangs are crowd pleasers. Young, old, ricer, etc. If your car's sweet, your car's sweet. It's alllllll good. [sm=smiley20.gif]

It's all good...

I drove down to Belton today for a car show... don't normally like driving on the interstate... tooo many trucks and too many people in too big of a hurry... Anyway.... tooling along about 70... engine clicking along about 2100rpms... nice easy tone from the Magnaflows... about 73 this morning...so windows down... every so often a car (and all Mustangs/all years) would whiz by...and the driver (male) would lean over the passenger (female) and give me a [sm=smiley20.gif].

nice morning...

As for crowd pleasers... well...
This show was an open show.. so it was 1) bunches of 29-34 Street Rods, 2) bunches of Camaros/Chevelles, 3) bunches of 'vettes ..... and 3 little ol' Mustangs. Typical Chevy show...I got beat out in my class by a 67 Olds 442 that didn't even open it's hood.

But hey..the drive was good *S*

So good. So very, very good. Nice to see other people were having a great Mustang day!

I wish I'd had the same kind of day. Had to swap out the dead battery in the '66 Vette, so I took my '68 vert to the auto parts store because it got way hot on me yesterday and the drive to and from the store would be just the right amount of time to warm it up and see if coolant was even circulating. It wasn't. And I wasn't smart enough to have gotten a thermostat when I got the new battery. Duh. I should know by now.

I swapped the 'Vette battery, started the car to give it a tune... and then watched gas shoot out the vent tube of the carb. Ugh. Got my work cut out for me tomorrow... I did, however, get a "nice car" thumbs up while I was at the auto parts store. That always makes me smile. It means someone else sees what I see in my car, too, and it brought them joy. That's always good.
