Default Motivation?

Had to work a half day on Satrday, was going to work on the Mustang in the afternoon, but I didn't do anything...

Time to go try again now, but it would be really easy to do nothing this afternoon as well........ It is really hot today,,,,

Don't do it man!!! At least do a little bit. You will feel better if you do. But i can also appreciate taking a break. Sometimes when I don't want to work on my mustang, I will half-a** stuff. But that is just me.

I like my AC. I'll wait for sundown before playing in the 100+ degree garage. Vents and fans don't do much with that heat...

Just get out there and do it!!!!

I dunno where I got my motivation today, but I've already fixed three cars.

My Prowler had a no-start issue that turned out easy: corroded & loose battery cable.

'68 vert needed a thermostat. I always forget the joy of changing those on a/c cars...UGH! At least I got to work on my tan (I put on a bikini for the first time in years!)

'66 Vette needed to run. One way or another, I needed to hear that engine start and run! I'd killed the new battery I'd bought yesterday by leaving the ignition on over night. DUH!!!! But my battery charger has a start mode... And I apparently hadn't adjusted my float properly because gas still shot out of the vent tube on top of the carb. I took the carb apart (for the third time) and messed with the float, cleaned the needle and seat, scratched my head because nothing looked wrong. Put it all back together, it leaked like a sieve out from under the float adjustment screw/nut. Discovered the paper gasket was torn. Replaced it. Readjusted the float again. Started the car. (Of course it started and ran like there had never been anything wrong!!!! Grrrr...) Tuned it. Came inside for some iced tea and MF.

And now it's time to go back out so I can go for 3 test drives in 3 verts and work on my tan some more! Life is good. Cars are great. Go work on yours!

You've got what many others want, a classic Mustang, and if not many others, then me. WORK, do it and I will bow to your car.

Thanks tor the encouragement Ladies and Gentlemen,, got 5 hours work in this afternoon/evening.

Mostly finished the wiring, but I still have a few loose ends, I need to mount the elec fuel pump and wire it up, I need to wire up the heater motor, and I need to install and wire the a/c unit. I still need to buy an electric fan and wire it,, but other than that this is it forthe small wiring.

I installed the Dakota Digital dash for a test/dry run, worked perfectly. Iinstalled thestainless battery box in the trunk and started running the longcables from the engine compartment to the trunk.

I am pleased with all of the results produced today, nothing to"re-do" on all that was done today. Only real problem is that I waited too long to get started!!

I know how you feel. I got back from riding my dirt bike yesterday and I had no energy to work on my stang. The fact that I f***ed up my rear wheel also didn't put me in the Mustang mood either.[:@]Oh well, I just put in overtime today.

Glad you got so much done!!!!! That's great!

In my post, I said I was gonna test drive my 3 cars... Well, is 1 out of 3 bad? Only the Prowler was actually fixed. [&o] The '68 vert, well...the thermostat made a difference, but not all the difference. I think the radiator might be clogged as well.

The '66 Vette...in a sick and twisted way, I think what happened is kinda funny. The float was only partially sunk and I'd chased proper adjustment until the float sank completely. That car ran great when I left the garage and by the time I got back I could barely keep it running. Guess I'm off to the speed shop next chance I get. I already looked through my spare carbs and I've got nothing compatible.

As I pulled out of the garage, my neighbor showed up with some of his friends. I didn't see them at first because the car's kind of a handful in reverse. When I shifted into first and looked up, there were 4 guys, mouths open, staring. I just laughed and waved as I headed past. I don't think they'd ever seen both a girl and a big block Corvette at the same time. That was great. No thumbs up/"nice car" necessary.
