Default RE: Which carb is this ?

Since we have similar cars, this thread started me thinking what the codes are on my carb. I dug it out of my storage box to check, and here is what is on mine.

Ear - C5ZF C

Tag on bowl screw - C5ZF J
A 4JE

And it has 1.08 stamped on the front bowl.

My carb is the original to my car, an Oct '64 built Fastback with an A code 289 and a toploader 4 speed. The car has been in my family since new, and the two uncles that owned it before me confirmed the carb was never messed with. One of the secondary venturi is broken off, and the choke is missing some linkage pieces, but otherwise is complete.

ORIGINAL: 66GTKFB

A C6AF-9510-F carburetor (marked on the tag - C6AF-F and on the base - 6 A F), model 4100 - 1.08 venturi, was used on a full size Ford with a 390 CID and automatic transmission in 1966 only. Reference section 95, page 46, of the Ford Car Parts manual. Questions?

I was talking about Mustangs with 390's... Jim, Did they ever use a 1.08 Autolite 4100 carb on a Mustang with a 390 motor??

In 1967, Ford went to the Holly four barrel for the Mustang with a 390.They used the 4300 in the 289 'A' code. The 4100 continued in the 67 289 Hi-Po.

Roger that. I couldn't remember if it was only Holley's on the Mustang 390's or that an Autolite was stuck on one as well. Thanks.
