Default '67 coupe project

Hello All,

I have been lurking for a couple of weeks now to get a feel for the people and the forum. I am impressed. The people and the topics are great. (congrats to the moderators and the members )

Anyway I figured I would introduce myself and my project.

The car is an early '67 coupe, C code 289, Automatic. Only special feature of the car is the bench seat instead of buckets. I bought the car back in '82 for $500.00. Car got me through high school and part of college. Sold car back to my Dad in '88. He gave car to my younger brother and it got him through high school and part of college. Car sat for the last 13 years. . A month ago I brought it home and began the task of bringing it back to life. Plan for car initially is to make it safe and road worthy again and then we will see from there.

Pictures are of car freshly drug out of storage. (car was literally drug out. front brake pads had seized to drums )

Looks like a great car to start with...and it sounds like you know most of its history already!

You're gonna have tons of fun sweetening up that ride!

Welcome and good luck. I have a 67 as well with the super cool bench seat. We should start a club, the "Bench Seat Bombers." Anyway, you will find the folks here very helpful and supportive. My MO is the same as yours, get it safe and running top notch before mods.

Sounds like a plan. I don't know about you but I haven't ever seen another 'stang with a bench seat. I seem to remember reading in a mustang magazine back in 1983 or 84 that Ford only made 8,000 or so Mustangs in '67 with the bench seat. I would guess not many left around today.

No flares. I think it is just primer covering some rust. [&:]
