are there any sites with good information about the 71 - 73 mach 1's?

ive got some ?s about them like

did they come with factory disc brakes? where can i find the vin # other than on the dash?

 

They had power disk brakes up front. Here is where you can locate the VIN. Where are your white Mavericks or Comets or whatever they are?

well i bought a stang for 400 bucks, its got a 302 2bbl and an auto

its def. a 71-72 and it has a mach 1 vin that has the "05" and and "f" for 302 2bbl, but it doesnt have the power front disc brakes, or the mach 1 tachometer, im trying to find a vin code besides the one on the dash because anybody could have changed the dashpad

 

Did you even download the VIN information I gave you? Raise your hood and look at the inner fender on the driver's side near the shock tower and you will see a cut-out of the outer fender where it mates with the inner fender and the Warranty number (VIN) will be stamped into the metal there.

 

Glen, On a 71? The VIN's stamped on the fender apron? Uh. . .

I thought the VIN moved to a plate on the left lower dash visible thru the windshield from 68 on.

Duhhhh! It is also on the apron.

 

That's nice to know - if I ever succumb to a Mustang other than a 64 to 66 - or a 2006 or 7.
