Default vacuum leak

Hi everyone. I havea 289 with a stock looking motor set up. The vacuum lines are all metal and it runs rough at low rpms. The carb is an old holley 2 barrel(looks stock but I believe they came with autolite not holley). Any suggestions on trouble shooting this? I almost want to swap it all over to an edlebrook and run new lines. but want to keep it as stock looking as possible.
secondly I have a "drip" coming from the block drivers side front below the head but slightly above the freeze plug. it looks like a cracked block but my brother swears that would be very hard to accomplish. It does not smoke and does not have any milky substance in the oil.
I'm almost ready to just pull the motor and rebuild it.
thanks for the advice!

Welcome Walter..thanks for dropping by.
When you say the vacuum lines are all metal, can you give us some specifics? What makes you suspect it is the vacuum lines? Have you done anything else to address the roughness, such as checked your plugs, timing, plug wires, fuel filter, coil, etc..etc...?

We need a little more to go on to help you with the 'running rough' issue.
On the drip, what kind of drip is it? Coolant or oil? Can you tell where the leak actually starts?
