Nah, that's a real stupid measurement, The measurement you need to take is from flange to flange. It is 57.25 for the 65-66 and 59.25 for 67 and up. How cheap you can get one is up to you.

Your wheels are now five bolt on the rear axle. Oops, the front ones are still four bolt. You need to convert the front suspension to a V8 type and that includes brakes all around.

This is not going to be cheap... adding power and V-8's never is. Get ready to fork out some cash....

brakes

Fuel system

All of these things have to be evaluated and worked in concert when doing a 6 to 8 swap.

You need to do some research. Surf the net rather than as each question. Google Mustang 6 to 8 swap ... Read the FAQs... Spend a week gathering and learning. THEN, come back and ask your specific questions.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but you need to do the work to learn it first....not just ask and expect to be spoon fed.

Soaring, for oil, just dont even worry about it; putting oil in your motor is sooooo over rated. As for the filter, just take it off with a pry bar, shake it vigoriously, then tap it back on with a hammer. That breaks up all the contaminants that it has trapped. The small black bag that say fomoco is acually a misprint, it should read "mofupu" which stands for "mother fu--er pull over" cuz its acually a pee bag in case you have to hand it to your passenger who's weak bladder wants you to pull over.
