Side Marker Question
Quick question for you guys. I just recently bought a 68 Fastback and someone brought up the fact it doesn't have side marker lights. Did Ford not put them on the early model 68's? I've searched the forums and have gotten different answers, someone said early model 68's may not have had them, some say it was federal law and they had to have them. I'm just trying to determine if panels have been replaced on the car. Thanks for any help.

From what I know and have read, all 68's had them. It was federal law. In early 68, they had their own markers that were recessed into the quarters. In the later model 68's, they went to using the same markers as the couger which just mount with 2 bolts through the quarter. These two holes could have easily been filled up on yours and the markers left off. 68 also had the fron marker lights as well . They were the same thorughout the years, but someone could have also easily put a set of 67 fenders on it.
