Where did that wire go?
I for got where a where on the back of my alternator went. I thought it went to the solenoid, but the wire isn't long enough. Now I think it might have connected to the block along with the negative battery cable. Can someone tell me where this wire goes?

The big ring with the two wires from the alternator would be the ground to the engine.
Just make sure before you hook your battery up that you check for continuity across your battery cables in case you have something grounded that isn't supposed to be. My 289, alternator and alternator wiring is from a Falcon and it had an extra wire with a loop that I had to file a bit to fit over the engine ground stud. Turned out it was supposed to be on the positive battery stud on the fender mounted starter relay. Oops. Didn't wreck anything and it runs fine now.
