you said you used plywood carb spacers too Surprising those things held hulling down the highway

Hey, don't knock plywood carb spacers until you try one. We didn't have phenolic spacers back then.

Bakelite - we had bakelite, a new high tech material.
I put a pair of coil spring 'stiffeners' on my 69 Fastback (ok, Sportsroof - I did own Mustangs other than 65 or 66). They were installed by using a 1/2 inch drive ratchet to twist them into position. Very effective to keep the rim of the fenders off my tires in a tight turn.
