Default Spring perch

I just changed the shocks in my car (71 grande) for the first time and noticed that one of the Spring Perches is cracked. Both are missing there rubber pad and make loud noises becasue of it when I hit any bumps. I was wondering how hard these are to replace and if anyone has any tips. I'm pretty much trying to learn things as I go along not knowing much about cars. I was also wondering if there was anything else I should consider changing at the same time.
Thanks in advance

NPD 2007 pg 54-55, p/n3388-1A, $27.50 ea. The upper insulator, the upper arm shaft, the ball joint and as long as you are there, the lower arm. That's about the whole front suspension. Do it once and do it right. Don't bother with a kit, all the parts that make up a suspension kit are the cheapest made.

As for the perches, check out the roller set on www.opentrackerracingproducts.com . Will be a bit expensive but like said above, do it right the first time.

I got new perches and threw them in the trash becuase they were junk. Ill be ordering the rollers soon as I get money in my paypal.

Thanks for the advice. Ill be sure to check this out. I'm still new to all of this so im not sure that can handle an entire rebuild the front end. I was thinking it was something I could work my way up to.

If you dont want to do the entire front end, new perches/springs/and shocks will make a world of difference and not be too difficult. All you would need is common wrench and rachet set and a spring compressor..

cheapest and easiest thing to do to make a mustang handle better is a monte carlo bar and export brace if it dont have one.cheap to buy easy to put in.become friends with a good older mechanic or find a mustang club close to you and talk to a couple of them im sure most of them will help you cheap or free.basic socket set and a spring compressor is all you need even if you dont have a spring compressor you can rent one from autozone.and lots of wd40 or anything close to it.
