Default 68 Mustang Marti Report ???

I have a 68 Mustang that I just had a Marti Report done on. It came back with everything I thought except it, and the other websites I have seen, all say my car is a hardtop GT, but its a convertible. I am not sure where this leaves me. I have not owned the car long, and I do not think someone made it into a convertible. I am not sure what I have. I have spent $5000 having it painted and am ready to do the interior, but do not want to dump a bunch of money into some abortion of a car. I would like for it to have some resale value. Thanks a bunch
Ted

The vin is : 8t01j147016

I will get some pics, but I really do not think somebody cut this car up and made a convertible.

Time to do some detective work. Does the VIN seen on the left hand windshield tag, the VIN on the left hand door data decal in the door edge and the VIN number on your registration agree? There are supposed to be two more VIN numbers stamped into the sheet metal on the fender aprons hidden under the edge of the fender near the hinges. You need to remove the fender to see them. All must agree. Any discrepancy should be resolved with Kevin Marti.

The bolded 01 indicates the VIN is for a hardtop.

well, if you got that vin from the dashpad, then it is possible that somebody changed the dashpad at some point without changing the vin tage, what is the vin on the registration?
