How many cops do you see showing up at car wash places? Get real.

We usually tick off the car wash places by taking our trucks after a good mudding and clogging up there drains. Better there than my driveway.

If you must know Glen, they only sent oneofficer (LAPD). Ironically, I was within one mile of the Port ofLos Angeles/Long Beach, our nation's busiest container port, responsible for 1/3rd of all emissions pollution in the L.A. basin.

FWIW, I am being 'real'. I understand that it may be tough for someone in small town America to comprehend some of the crap that goes on in the Golden State, but this isn't known as the land of 'fruits and nuts' for nothing. For cripes sake, we have mobile smog 'checkpoints' at on-ramps to make sure you're not further polluting our already crappy air, cameras at intersections to take your picture if you run a light (say cheese).

Then why do you live in California? Life is just too short to live where big brother is watching you.

For starters, I was born here, went to college here and my business is here. Additionally, there must be some pretty good things here or people wouldn't be flocking here by the millions with real estate climbing to astronomical levels. Yes, there are many restrictions which originate here and often propagate to the rest of the country, but it is not the only restrictive state in the union. From what I understand, vehicle inspections in Pennsylvania, for instance, are no picnic. Owning a Jeep in that state with itsinspections for ride height, tires sticking out, etc.,is quite a chore I'm told.

That said, my eyes are open to other possibilities down the line. I have my house and am established here, yet I'm not so sure that there aren't better places for my children to grow up and start their adult lives.

From my standpoint, I came here for the employment opportunities 40 years ago this month from the rust belt of the east coast. I retired 15 years ago at age 50, because I could. I still 'dabble' in the hi-tech industry as a consultant, again, because I can. As to the 'fruits and nuts' we have as politicians, they get the full load from me often for their stupidity. Are there better places to live then Silicon Valley? Yup, and both are in California.
