wasn't quite sure where to list this post but since I have a 65 here goes. Does anyone know where I can get a decent spring compressor that doesn't cost too much. I recently bought a cheapy from Nothern tool for about $39, well you get what you pay for. It broke on me while I was compressing a spring. Thought I was going to lose a finger. Anyway I would like to get one thats going to do the job without fear of breaking.

rent one from autozone...that is what I did. They had a good internal spring compressor with a plate on one end and hook on the other. Worked perfectly.

 

We have a member on here who has about the perfect compressor and his name is Jim.My suggestion is that you do a search at the bottom of this thread for Spring compressor to see what Jim has then try to replicate that design. Otherwise, make sure you get one that hooks with a three prong from the inside of the spring. I am surprised you are still alive.
